Take a pic with Paddington for Valentine's Day in Newbury

Valentine’s Day is back this Friday (February 14).

And even Newbury’s latest resident is marking the occasion in the town centre.

So, while rushing to buy those last-minute gifts (you definitely didn’t forget about), why not visit the beloved fictional bear in Northbrook Street, now a prime photo spot with your special someone thanks to a wicker heart installed this week.

Trish Willetts, CEO of Newbury BID, the not-for-profit organisation behind the recent addition, said: “Since bringing the Paddington statue to Newbury last year, we have loved seeing all of the joy Paddington has brought to locals and visitors alike.

“Newbury BID is delighted to have organised the wicker heart installation behind Paddington over Valentine’s week, so make sure you head along for a romantic photo opportunity.

“And don’t forget to tag @visitnewbury in any photos you share.”
