There is an opportunity to learn more about the sport of horse racing all afternoon which starts with the chance to meet retired racehorse, Danetime Panther or ‘P Man’ to his friends, who will be located just inside the East Entrance.
You can also get closer to the action with a ‘Behind the Scenes’ tour, taking in the weighing room, parade ring and winning post.
Throughout the afternoon, racegoers will also have the opportunity to join a free trip to the last fence, hosted by former jockey, David Crosse.
Marketing director for Newbury Racecourse, Harriet Collins, said: “We are really looking forward to our final fixture of 2021 and welcoming families through our doors for our post-Christmas raceday.
“With the ever changing restrictions, mandatory COVID passports or a negative lateral flow test registered through the NHS app are now applicable for all attendees joining us.
“This was in place for our pre-Christmas raceday last week and it all went very smoothly.
“We would advise anyone planning on attending, to purchase tickets in advance where you can still benefit from a discount and importantly it will really help with the efficiency of access on the day.
“Those planning on joining us can find full details on how they can obtain their COVID passport on our website.
“We’ve got an array of outdoor activities available across the site for all ages to enjoy and the feature race, the Grade 1 MansionBet Challow Hurdle is always a brilliant spectacle.”
