Changes made to Highclere Neighbourhood Plan after Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council rejects housing sites
The Highclere Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group has had to make changes to its neighbourhood plan after Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council rejected two sites it had allocated for future housing.
It is believed that these have been rejected because they were not in close enough proximity to Highclere village.
A 2.79-acre site in Foxs Lane in Penwood and a 1.4-acre site north of Penwood Road just south of Washwater have both been removed from the plan.
They have now been replaced by the 5.23-acre Cleremeadows site, which is located on the eastern side of the A343 just above Church Lane.
The Highclere Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group is now hoping to proceed to the next stage of the neighbourhood plan process, which will soon see the plan going to referendum to see whether it will be adopted by the village.
