Changes to Christmas waste collections
West Berkshire Council has announced waste an recycling collections dates over the festive season
WEST Berkshire residents are being advised that changes will be made to waste and recycling collections over the Christmas period.
Rubbish and recycling will be collected one day later than usual for two weeks from Monday, December 26 due to the bank holidays that fall over Christmas and New Year period.
Collections will return to normal on Monday, January 9.
The new Recycling Centre in Padworth will be open on weekdays between 12.30pm to 6pm and on weekends and Bank Holidays 8am to 6pm. The site will be closed on 25 December 25, 26 and January 1.
At the district's recycling centres residents can recycle more than 20 different types of materials including old mobile phones in aid of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, cardboard, wood, broken electrical appliances and garden waste.
The Recycling Centre at Padworth does not accept general household, commercial or food waste.
The Newtown Road, Household Waste Recycling Centre, Newbury, will be open every day from 8.30am to 5.30pm but will also be closed on December 25, 26 and January 1.

Hilary Cole, West Berkshire's executive councillor for the environment said: “We create so much packaging waste at this time of year from parties, please don't forget to recycle the plastic bottles and cans in your kerbside bags.”
