Charity car wash in Hungerford today (Sun)
Members of the Rotary Club of Hungerford will be working their socks off to buff your motor to raise funds for the Mary Hare School for deaf children at Snelsmore Common.
The event will take place at the Wyevale Garden Centre between 9am and 4.30pm.
Hungerford Rotary Club president James Podger said: “Clean2Gleam franchisee Arjen Lalaj and owner Gary Winter have generously offered the club a Rotary Car Wash Day. They’re keen to support our Mary Hare School charity via the club, with all monies paid on the day going to that charity.”
"We hope to have raised enough money by the end of my Presidential year in June 2105 to fund the balance needed for their Pool Pod, costing £15,000 - a piece of equipment needed to lift not merely severely and profoundly deaf kids, but kids who also suffer physical disability such as cerebral palsy in and out of the pool with their wheelchairs in dignity so they can fully benefit from all activities in the pool."
The Rotary Club of Hungerford will also be supporting other charities this year including the West Berkshire Therapy Centre, the Ebola charity - to which members have already donated £1,000 of the £8,000 in donations collected via the Marlow Rotary Club - the Bruce Trust Barges, End Polio Now, Shelter Boxes and Hungerford-based youth clubs.”
