Thatcham Rotary charity dinner serves up large charity donation
Thatcham Rotary Club held a charity dinner night at The Szechuan Restaurant last week.
More than 80 Rotarians and their friends and families enjoyed an evening of food and fun – all with charity in mind, on Wednesday, May 31.
Rotarian and spokesperson Maurice Franks said that with the support of the owner and staff of the restaurant, and proceeds from a very successful raffle, the evening generated in excess of £1,800.
Time to Talk, HomeStart and The Rotary Foundation are among the beneficiaries.
The Rotary Foundation is using its resources to eradicate polio on a global scale.
Mr Franks said that although the main purpose of the evening was to raise funds, it was a great opportunity to get together for superb food and company.
