CANCELLED: Newbury Lions charity duck race to set sail this weekend

CANCELLED: Newbury Lions has cancelled its Duck Race originally planned for this weekend.

One thousand plastic ducks were due to swim along the canal to the finishing line in Victoria Park this Sunday at 2.30pm.

But organisers have had to postpone the event due to the flow of the river being too dangerous.

Attendees are encouraged to hold on to their tickets until a new date is confirmed.

Looking ahead, Newbury Lions’ Speen Fete will be held on Saturday, June 8, featuring a Wild West theme.

Lions are currently looking for acts or demonstrations to appear in the ring.

Anyone interested in having a stall is urged to contact president@newburylions.org.uk
