Charity fundraising walk from Ball Hill

Walk off the festive food on a route around East Woodhay and North End today (Tuesday)

A FAMILY walk is to take place around North End and East Woodhay this morning (Tuesday), to raise charity funds.

The annual walk, organised in association with Highclere and East Woodhay Societies, will start from the Furze Bush pub in Ball Hill and follow a circular route via North End and East Woodhay.

It will take approximately two hours to complete and walkers will finish back at the pub in time for lunch if they wish.

Hot mulled wine and mince pies will be served en route, donated by local lunch club, Los Jubilados.

Organisers have stressed that the walk is not too physically demanding, and urge children as well as adults to take part.

As the walk is muddy in places however, it is not suitable for pushchairs, or wheelchairs.

Paticipants are advised to wear sturdy, waterproof footwear.

Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads, at all times.

A collection will be made in aid of the registered charity, Jacksplace, at Naomi House Children's Hospice, Sutton Scotney.

Turn up at the Furze Bush pub in Ball Hill at 10.30am, for a group photograph at 10.45am, before setting off on the walk at 11am.

The walk will return to the pub at 1pm for an optional lunch.
