Pangbourne Rotary Club’s Woodcote 10k run racks up tidy sum for charity




Rotarians celebrated another triumphant charity run at the weekend.

A total of 278 took part in Pangbourne Rotary Club’s annual Woodcote 10k run on Sunday, January 7.

All runners finished despite the cold and dry conditions — raising a grand sum of £3,600 for charity.

The principal beneficiary of the run this year is Parkinson’s UK, with any remaining funds going to the club’s fund to support local causes.

The first three winners in the men’s category were: Cameron Weir in 1st place (Abingdon FC), Callum Evans in 2nd place (Reading Roadrunners) and Lachlan Arthur in 3rd place (Oxford University Athletics Club).

And the first three winners in the women’s category were: Christine Halls in 1st place (Basingstoke & Mid Hants Athletic Club), Kate Williams in 2nd place (Reading Road Runners) and Lara Tolson in 3rd place (Reading Athletic Club).

The club extends it thanks to everyone who joined the run and to its sponsor, Warmingham Estate Agents.
