Pangbourne's Santa charity tour is jingling all the way
Pangbourne Rotary Club's annual Santa tour is currently under way.
The tour started on Thursday (December 1) at Woodcote and will visit around 25 different locations including Theale, Pangbourne and Calcot, before finishing at Tilehurst on Friday, December 23. Full details of the route can be found at https://www.rotary-ribi.org/clubs/page.php?PgID=896382 and its progress can be tracked live at https://glympse.com/!pangsanta.
Santa's elves are collecting for charity. They succeeded in raising £44,000 last year for local community groups, foodbanks, mental health services international disaster relief, refugee support and polio elimination.
The club is also still calling for entries for its Woodcote 10K Run on Sunday, January 8. The club's 40th anniversary race will commence at 10.15am from Woodcote Village Hall and attracts runners from Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and even internationally.
Charitable donations — this year to the National Association of Bloodbikes, Purley Park Trust and other worthy causes — are made possible by the entry fees from the runners. Entry feeds cost £18 for affiliated club runners and £20 for all others. Minimum age for entry is 15 years on race day.
People can register online at https://www.woodcote10k.org.uk/registration-2023 until 9.45am on the day of the race. The club is limited to a maximum of 600 entries, so urges those interested in participating to register their interest fast.
There will be no facility to register in person on the day.
