West Berkshire Brewery tribute beer marks Reading FC's 150th anniversary

The award-winning West Berkshire Brewery is toasting Reading Football Club's 150th anniversary with a new lager.

The brew, titled '150', is a golden variety to match the club's team crest.

The recipe blends a grassy aroma that is lightly hoppy with a crisp and dry taste, and a touch of spice.

Yattendon-based West Berkshire Brewery has been a long-standing partner of Reading FC and '150' is the second beer to be exclusively brewed for the club.

Interim managing director Davina Clifton said: "Here at West Berkshire Brewery, we’re proud to be playing a part in the celebrations for this momentous occasion in Reading Football Club’s history.

"After all, this is a milestone only a handful of football clubs across England have ever reached."

She added: "We hope that fans enjoy celebrating with ‘150’ lager, which is being exclusively packaged for all to enjoy at the West Berkshire Brewery bar outside the stadium throughout the year, and a limited number of bottles are available for purchase at home if you’re not able to make it along to a match.

"We look forward to our ongoing partnership as two Berkshire businesses and are excited to see all that is to come as we continue to grow together."

The '150' lager is on sale in draught at the bar in the Fan Zone and in bottles throughout the hospitality suites at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
