Cheers to West Berks pubs in CAMRA's 40th beer guide
The event was held at the Red House, Marsh Benham, which is one of eleven West Berkshire pubs to feature in the publication.
CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide, which celebrates its 40th edition this year, is the UK's best-selling beer guide and features 4,500 pubs.
Members of CAMRA, such as chairman of the West Berkshire branch, Adrian Bean, select all of the pubs that appear in the guide.
Mr Bean said: “We are trying to celebrate local pubs that sell the best ales and ciders throughout the year.
“The guide gives a description of the pub as well as an idea of what ales and ciders it sells.
“We believe the best place to enjoy real ale is in your local pub and we encourage people to support their local because once they are gone they won’t come back.”
The other West Berkshire pubs in the guide are: Lock, Stock and Barrel, Northbrook Street, Newbury, The Castle Inn, Cold Ash, The Bell, Aldworth, Lord Lyon, Stockcross, Crown and Garter, Great Common Road, Inkpen Common, Pot Kiln, Frilsham, Royal Oak, Yattendon, The Six Bells, The Green, Beenham, Hungerford Club, The Croft, Hungerford, and The Rising Sun, Stockcross.
