Cherry trees planted on green space in Thatcham
Three trees have been planted on a green space in Thatcham.
A Thatcham town councillor has shared the "good news" for his ward Thatcham West.
Keith Woodhams (Lib Dem) has celebrated the planting of three white flowering cherry trees.
The planting comes after a request from a resident living in Trent Crescent – who wishes to remain anonymous.
Mr Woodhams said the resident knows everything about horticulture and is well placed to “look after the trees and make sure they are watered throughout the summer”.
He thanked Jo Watt from the countryside and environment team at West Berkshire Council for ensuring there were no utilities pipe work below ground to prevent the trees from being planted.
