Aldermaston childcare worker awarded for behaviour management initiatives
A childcare worker has been awarded for her contribution to children's behaviour management.
Last week, childcare worker Anna Berridge, from Aldermaston, was recognised for her unwavering commitment to the Behaviour Specialists team at Cedars Day Nursery and Pre-School in the village.
"I'm so thrilled to receive this award," said Ms Berridge, who has more than 15 years' experience supporting children with additional needs.
She added: "To be recognised for my contributions to an initiative so close to my heart is amazing and I feel so inspired to see what we can achieve here at Cedars and across our group.
"Developing behaviour interventions across our nurseries aims to reduce challenging behaviour.
"Our approach seeks to develop a positive ethos and ensure our nursery settings are calm, nurturing environments for all of our children.
"The developmental, physical, behavioural and sensory needs of children are complex and learning how to support each child with a unique plan is so rewarding."
Ms Berridge became deputy manager at Cedars Nursery earlier this year and is now the first port of call for any nursery across the group seeking advice on behaviour interventions for their children.
Managing director at Complete Childcare, Alec Hodson, added: "We are proud to be experts in childcare and our staff do an incredible job.
"We simply wouldn't be able to do what we do without them. Providing individuals with opportunities for progression and growth is top of our priority list."
Ms Berridge went on to say: "I get so much satisfaction from seeing children develop from dependent babies to school-age children.
"I work in partnership with parents to make sure children are on track to achieve their development goals.
"With regular assessment, I identify any difficulties and intervene to put in place appropriate measures where necessary."
Emma McIntyre, from the Complete Childcare Nursery Support Team, said: "Presenting staff with awards is always such a pleasure. The contribution Anna has made is remarkable and we're so pleased to have her in our team."
Cedars' early years provision caters for babies from three months to pre-school.
The Complete Childcare nursery chain has 15 sites across the Thames Valley, with 300 staff supporting close to 1,000 children every day.
