Children's service brings seasonal magic
The Christmas story was re-enacted for young and old alike at East Garston's All Saints Church
A CHILDREN'S Service brought some seasonal magic to East Garston's All Saints Church on Thursday, December 23 as they re-enacted the Christmas story for young and old alike.
Little Bertie Frost made his stage debut at the tender age of three weeks, appearing as the Baby Jesus.
The readings were given by Sania Kelly, aged 10, Sophie Pannett-Smith, aged eight and nine-year-old Grace Pennycook.
The solo - Away in a Manger - was sung by six-year-old Jonathan Pannett-Smith.
Sadly, the donkey which traditionally takes part in the service was prevented from attending by snow and ice.
The service culminated in the lighting and receiving of Christingles, filling the children with wonder, before they departed to the Meeting House for their traditional tea party, where Jesus' Birthday cakes had been baked for them again by parishioner Renee Rookes.
