Choral society holds Christmas charity concert at Pangbourne College




A choral society has held a Christmas concert to mark its 50th anniversary.

Pangbourne Choral Society held its Christmas concert, featuring carols and readings, at The Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel at Pangbourne College on Saturday, November 25.

A number of the dignitaries attended the event, all in aid of local charities.

Participants included musical director Sara Benbow, former chairman of Newbury District Council Rosemary Sanders-Rose, CPRE representative David Over, Berkshire Gardens Trust representative Hugh Simon, Robert Astor (League of Friends of Royal Berkshire Hospitals), Ann Sheen (League of Friends), Colin Maclean ( League of Friends), Clive Williams and organiser Christina Hill-Williams.

Mr Williams read from Dylan Thomas’ A Child's Christmas in Wales, and Mrs Hill-Williams delivered Christmas Thoughts.

Causes supported by the society during the evening included the League of Friends of Berkshire Hospitals, NT Reading Centre, Berkshire Gardens Trust and CPRE Berkshire.
