Christmas lunch enjoyed by all at Fair Close Day Centre
The centre is an independent charitable organisation that provides services for older people in Newbury and the surrounding area, and its Christmas event proved a popular attraction with close to 170 people turning out to tuck in to the two course lunch.
Following the meal, mayor Anthony Pick and mayoress Catherine Kent handed out Christmas presents among the guests, ahead of a raffle in the afternoon.
A trustee of the Fairclose centre, Lynn Hearne, said: “Everyone who attended seemed to enjoy their lunch and had a most enjoyable day.
“The staff and volunteers worked extremely hard to make it a memorable day for everyone who attended.”
The centre was also previously used as a base for the Newbury Weekly News’ Over 80's Parcel Fund.
