Christmas tree lifted into place ahead of Newbury’s Christmas Light Switch On Festival
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Newbury.
The large Christmas tree, that stands in pride of place outside the town hall throughout the festive season, was delivered yesterday (Tuesday) ahead of the Christmas Light Switch On Festival this weekend.
The lights, which adorn Northbrook Street, Bartholomew Street and Market Place, were also all put up on Sunday evening and will be switched on at 6pm on Saturday.
The magic begins at 10am that day, with a day-long festival planned for the town centre.
West Berkshire Council has planned a day of free bus travel to coincide with the Christmas Lights Switch On Festival, with local bus operators throughout the district offering free fares on Saturday.
