Beedon Church 800th anniversary celebrations continue

Another event has been held to celebrate a church’s anniversary milestone.

Douglas Dales, an associate priest in the East Downlands Benefice, recently gave a talk on the ‘Beginning of the Church in Beedon’.

Audience members listened intently to an informative account of the church’s establishment in the village some 800 years ago.

The talk was followed by cheese and wine.

The next celebration will take place on Saturday, October 28, at 10am in the church.

James Peddle, of the Berkshire Archaeological Society, will give an illustrated talk on ‘Medieval and Historic Church Graffiti’, with reference to that which exists in the church.

Refreshments will be provided. The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
