Church fete in Kingsclere




An annual fete will be held today (Monday) in St Mary's churchyard to raise funds for the historic village church

A DOG show with fancy dress for dogs and handlers and a barbecue are part of the fun of an annual fete to raise funds for an historic village church in Kingsclere today (Monday).

The fete, which will be held in St Mary's churchyard, opens at 12pm, with dog show registration from 12pm to 1.15pm, followed by the dog show from 2pm to 3.15pm, with prizes for the sweetest puppy, prettiest bitch, most handsome dog, most like his/her master and old age pooch (over seven years).

Prizes will be awarded for all class winners, with rosettes for the first three placings, and a prize for best in show, alongside dog and handler races.

Other attractions include giant games, a putting competition, stalls, children's activities, raffle and bell tower tours, along with traditional sack and egg and spoon races.

The fete is due to finish at 4pm.
