Fuel bill crisis: Hungerford churches provide warm havens
FROM this week, Hungerford churches are offering warmth hubs for those struggling to pay their fuel bills.
The initiative is a response to the rising cost of living and aims to provide a place where people can meet and spend time in a warm, welcoming and safe environment.
Each of Hungerford’s churches is hosting a space and entry is free.
Here is the schedule:
St Lawrence’s Church in The Croft: every Tuesday between 2.30pm and 3.30pm
The United Reformed Church in the High Street: every Wednesday between 10am and 12pm
Our Lady of Lourdes in Priory Road: the first Saturday of each month between 10am and 11.45am
The Methodist Church in Bridge Street: every Sunday between 12pm and 4pm
Each church would like to hear from anyone who is able to help serve refreshments and to welcome users.
