Classic car specialist expanding to Thatcham with HSBC funding
An automotive business – specialising in repairing the classic car model, the Nissan Figaro – is expanding into a new location.
The Figaro Shop, based in Didcot, will use a £1.66m funding package from HSBC UK to acquire a service station in Thatcham.
The shop has served Berkshire as a service and tyre repair shop for 15 years and has already created two new jobs in Thatcham – and plans to hire further staff.
Owner Tobyn Brooks said: “As a business founded by someone from a disadvantaged background, I am extremely committed to creating jobs and making a positive impact within communities.
“The automotive industry has been instrumental in my success, and HSBC UK has been an incredible partner in supporting The Figaro Shop with future growth.”
The shop’s services will include tyre fitting, MOT and car repair services for customers, ranging from residents to Nissan Figaro enthusiasts.
And the business is anticipating an increase in turnover over the next 12 months, with annual profits expected to rise by 30 per cent.
“This funding means much more than bricks and mortar; it represents hope, resilience and opportunity,” added Mr Brooks.
HSBC UK relationship manager in the South and East London Business Banking Centre, Indika Perera, added: “By venturing into servicing non-specialist cars, The Figaro Shop is not only enhancing its portfolio but is also creating exciting career opportunities.
“We’re pleased to share the business’s commitment to shaping futures and empowering individuals to thrive in their careers.”
