Classic vehicle club members present donation

Record sum raised

MEMBERS of the West Berkshire Classic Vehicle Club (WBCVC) presented a record donation of £15,396 to the leukaemia and lymphoma charity Bloodwise.

The cheque was presented by WBCVC chairman Mike Kent to Les Taylor, the outgoing chairman of Bloodwise Newbury.

Also present were WBCVC Show co-ordinator Richard Huntley, Steve Long and Jim Sallis from Newbury College, who helped host the event with WBCVC club members and a selection of their classic vehicles.

The record sum was raised at the club’s annual Classic Vehicle show, at Newbury College in August. It was achieved with a large team of volunteers from WBCVC along with Newbury Lions Club plus huge public support on the day.

Next year’s show is scheduled for August 14 and more details can be found at www.classicvehicles.org.uk or on the club’s Facebook page, wbclassicvehicles.
