Clouds fail to dampen show's spirits
Thousands more expected this morning for Royal County of Berkshire Show
NEWBURY Showground was beginning to fill up as thousands poured through the turnstiles this morning (Sunday).
Organisers said the overcast weather had affected attendance slightly.
However, show spokeswoman Jo Peck added: "We're looking forward to some sunshine later, so the message is 'come on down.'
"There's lots on today - we've got Vanessa Whitburn, the editor of (BBC radio show)The Archers, doing a question and answer session on the Reading University stage at 2.30pm.
"Then there's the Band of the Brigade of Ghurkas and the Devil's Horsemen stunt team, which went down really well yesterday."
Police reported no traffic incidents and Ms Peck said: "It's all flowing really smoothly - people have remarked on it.
"We've got a new company managing traffic for us this year and they really seem to be on top of it."
