Ding dong! Mystery pic revealed




Did you identify our mystery pic? When we posted this picture and asked 'where and what is it?' it started head scratching... the first clue was that West Berkshire CAMRA and real ale fans might just have an advantage in identifying it. But not exclusively.

The final two clues gave it away:

Look to your nursery rhymes for a 16th century moral against doing harm to animals... For those who prefer numerical clues: 372

Tim Thomas of Newbury, with the help of Google, was one of the first to get back with the right answer:

"Ding Dong Bell - thanks for the clues - it is the building above the 372-foot deep well in Aldworth opposite the Bell Inn. The machinery would be for winding up the water bucket. Must take a closer look next time."
