New children's coding studio, Code Ninjas, opens in Newbury
A new coding studio for kids has opened its doors in Newbury.
Code Ninjas, based on London Road, was officially opened on Saturday, May 29 with the Mayor of Newbury, Billy Drummond, cutting the ribbon.
Owners Marcus Brind and Heather Blakesley organised a range of free and fun activities for children to try on the day, including robot building, drone piloting and video-game creation.
Mr Brind said: “It was great to welcome so many families to our grand opening event over the bank holiday weekend.
“It’s so rewarding to see the children enjoying all the amazing educational STEM and coding activities that Code Ninjas Newbury can offer.”
Ms Blakesley added: “We’re here to guide the children through our exciting curriculum and, with the help of our team of Code Senseis, truly put Newbury on the map for kids’ technological education.
“We’re looking forward to a ninja-fuelled future, that's for sure!”
Code Ninjas is the first coding education centre of its kind in Newbury and offers programmes for children aged 5-14-years, as well as a range of summer camps.
The studio has also employed 12 local college and university students.
Code Ninjas is a large coding franchise with locations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
