'Collapsing' Sterling tower sees road closures last night

Police were first alerted to the incident at 8:44pm when a man claimed a brick had fallen onto his head as he walked close by.
A spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police, Rhianne Pope, confirmed this morning (Fri) that police closed Boundary Road, between the Mill Lane and Hambridge Road junctions at 9:30pm as a precaution, as darkness prevented them carrying out necessary safety checks.
She revealed that some fallen rubble had damaged a Land Rover which was parked close to the tower.
The tower was not collapsing, however some debris had come loose in the torrential weather.
The road has now re-opened.
