Lorry fire closes M4 in both directions between Hungerford and Swindon

Highways England has reported that the M4 has been closed in both directions between J14 and J15 due to a lorry fire.

Wiltshire Fire & Rescue and emergency services are currently in attendance and long delays are expected.

Road users travelling east to follow the Hollow Circle diversion signs. Exit at J15 then take the B4192. Continue on the B4192 then take the A338 and continue until you re-join the M4 at J14.

Road users travelling westbound are advised to follow the Hollow Square diversion signs. Exit at J14 then take the A338 towards Hungerford then join the A4 towards Marlborough. At Marlborough take the A346 and continue until you re-join the M4 at J15.

Highways England advises if you are travelling towards this area from much farther afield, you may wish to change your planned route, allow extra travel time and follow guidance from the on-road variable message signs and media.
