Collison causes delays on A339 through Newbury this afternoon (Monday)

Two lanes of Robin Hood roundabout closed

MOTORISTS were forced to endure delays when driving through Newbury this afternoon when two lanes of the Robin Hood roundabout were blocked after a collision between two lorries.

The HGVs, which were travelling north towards the A34 and both from the same excavation company, were involved in the smash at around 11.45am.

Emergency services were called to the scene with paramedics assessing the two drivers with one complaining of back pain.

Both drivers were able to exit their vehicles.

Police remained on site to manage traffic until the lorries were removed.

As a result tailbacks along the northbound A339 were reported for most of the afternoon.
