'Come and play'
Interactive experimental dance installation at museum
PLAYING at West Berkshire Museum this week, a 30-minute research and development installation by Nocturn ...And They Have Escaped.
The experimental dance company invite the public to come and play in a world where 2D and 3D collide. The installation fuses a museum’s collection with dance, technology and projection to explore our fascination for living our lives through our mobile phones.
John Darvell’s locally-based company creates and delivers contemporary experimental narrative performances based on topical social issues. Using a mixture of dance and accessible technology, they engage audiences through interactive artistic events they can experience accidentally, either in an installation setting or online.
…And They Have Escaped is part of a larger range of activities, supported using public funding by Arts Council England, and working with West Berkshire Council, West Berkshire Museum, Corn Exchange (Newbury), South Hill Park (Bracknell) and Cornerstone (Didcot). It continues until Sunday.
Book a free visit to the installation (30-minute time slots) through the Corn Exchange box office www.cornexchangenew.com – iPads will be provided
