Community fund will give £10,000 locally

The fund has been set up by The Racecourse Newbury and David Wilson Homes as they prepare the 1,500 home development at the racecourse.
The first £3,000 cash donation will be pledged in February 2013 and the decision board is currently inviting nominations to come forward.
The competition is open to any charity, sporting organisation, community group, school, or deserving cause, within a 30-mile radius of The Racecourse Newbury.
Managing director of David Wilson Homes, Paul Crispin (Pictured with Sarah Hordern), said: "This initiative is designed to support three deserving causes in the local community, which can nominate themselves, or be nominated by others.
"Whether this is sponsorship of the local team, funds to support a local musical company, or helping a charity to its next goal, the allocation of the fund will be decided by local people, alongside representatives of The Racecourse Newbury and our team based at the development.”
Managing director of The Racecourse Newbury development and finance, Sarah Hordern, said: "We share David Wilson’s Homes’ desire to work with the local community at the heart of the development and this is just one of the initiatives we will launch over the next 10 years.
The nomination deadline is Tuesday, January 15, and entry forms can be found online at www.racecoursenewbury.co.uk/Living
To enter, organisations must submit between 200 to 500 words on how the money will be spent and how this will benefit the organisation.
