Xtrac’s chief executive Adrian Moore said: “It’s a big step forward for us and a significant achievement for a Tier 1 motorsport supplier.

“It recognises our long-standing commitment to achieving net zero.”

The FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme aims to provide motorsport and mobility stakeholders worldwide with a three-level framework to introduce clear and consistent environmental actions to improve their environmental performance.

“By participating in the FIA programme, we further understand our environmental issues and how to develop through continuous improvement processes,” added Mr Moore.

“It puts us in a great position to continue this work and achieve the ultimate Three-Star accreditation.

“Investment in achieving this type of accreditation to make us a better business goes hand-in-hand with our ongoing investment into the latest state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and training programmes for our people.”

The audit assesses best practices in environmental management including energy use, water consumption, waste management, ground and water pollution, materials design and procurement, noise pollution, monitoring of carbon emissions and more.

“We aim to continue improving our environmental performance during this period,” added Xtrac’s people and culture director Kirsty Knight.

“We want to thank Cristiana Pace, Bridget Haywood and Adam Ellis at Enovation Consulting for their expertise in helping us achieve this milestone and all of the hard-working and skilled staff at Xtrac who made this possible.

“It paves the way for us to achieve the Three-Star accreditation and the internationally recognised ISO 14001 environmental management system (EMS) certifications.”
