Howden Thatcham surprises winner of holiday voucher giveaway

A Thatcham insurance broker has presented thousands of pounds to a family in Reading in a UK wide competition.

Howden Insurance delivered £4,000 in holiday vouchers to Christopher James, who said he will use the prize money to visit his mum in America.

Throughout August, more than 100 Howden Insurance branches took part in a £20,000 holiday giveaway, where five winners could each win a £4,000 TUI voucher. Entrants needed to obtain a quote to enter.

Howden Thatcham branch manager Luke Mason said: “We wanted to brighten up the high street this year with one of our biggest competitions to date.

“It wasn’t the sunniest of summers and with many still struggling with the cost-of-living, holidays are very much on the backburner for many.

“We knew that £4,000 could make a huge difference to a holiday, whether it’s a solo trip of a lifetime, a couple of shorter winter breaks, a retirement cruise, or even a contribution towards a Florida holiday.

“This voucher has come at a fantastic time and will pay for Mr and Mrs James and their children to go over and see her, now with an added Disney trip too.

“They even had their recently renewed passports on the kitchen table when we visited.”
