Compost made of your food waste to be given away in Padworth
Compost will be given away in Padworth later this month, and it’s made from food waste collected from West Berkshire homes.
People can once again head to the Padworth Integrated Waste Management Facility in Padworth Lane to fill their cars with the soil conditioner.
Those taking advantage of the offer are asked to take their own boxes or bags for the recycled waste, as it cannot be loaded directly into vehicles.
There is no fee for the collection, but those taking advantage of the offer are asked to bring suitable identification documents with them to prove they are a West Berkshire resident.
Residents are warned there may be a queue and are asked to take only what they need to ensure there is enough soil conditioner for all who want some. It is for private households only.
While people can turn up to join the queue, those wanting to leave recycling behind are asked to book an appointment as usual.

The event is a collaboration between Veolia and West Berkshire Council, and runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, October 19, and Sunday, October 20.
