West Berkshire village of Compton is holding an election for one seat on its parish council
Due to an error in the notice for the uncontested election on May 4, Compton is holding an election for one seat on its parish council.
Nomination papers must be delivered no later than 4pm on Thursday, May 25, to returning officer Nigel Lynn at West Berkshire Council’s offices in Market Street, Newbury.
If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday, June 22.
Nomination forms can be obtained from clerk Sarah Marshman at comptonparish@gmail.com or from West Berkshire Council’s offices.
Applications to register to vote can be made online at https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and must reach the electoral registration officer by midnight on Tuesday, June 6.
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the electoral registration officer at West Berkshire Council by 5pm on Wednesday, June 7.
And new applications to vote by proxy in this election must reach the electoral registration officer at West Berkshire Council by 5pm on Wednesday, June 14.
