Compton pub prepares for 'Swanfest'
Several events are being planned to mark The Compton Swan owners' third anniversary in charge
THE owners of a pub in Compton are gearing up for their third anniversary in charge of the venue with a series of special events.
The Compton Swan, in High Street, is to kick off “Swanfest” on Wednesday (August 24) with a performance from award-winning singer songwriter Emily Baker.
Then, on September 9, a beer festival, talent contest and music festival will run at the pub until September 11.
Many of the artists who have played at the pub in the preceding three years will perform special sets, and the owners Jean-Marc Bidegain and Penelope Sexton say they are very pleased to have grouped together so many talents for one day.
“For those who have already had the pleasure of hearing Jack Harris and Luke Jackson it will not come as a surprise that they will be headlining our festival,” Mr Bidegain said.
“We will carry on of course after our birthday but would like the world to know that they can enjoy a fabulous time at our place.”
Advance tickets are £6.00 and will be £7.50 on the day, with accompanied under 16s allowed in free.
