Concert raises funds for air ambulance
A collection during the Christmas Spirits event held at St Mark's Church in December was made in aid of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Trust, which attended to local two-year-old Sophie Ainsworth after an accident at her grandparent's home in the village last August.
The event, which was attended by 80 villagers, included readings from The Father Christmas Letters by author of The Hobbit J.R.R. Tolkien and an abridged version of Beatrix Potter's The Tailor of Gloucester.
In August Sophie fractured her skull and eye socket when she fell from a first floor window while visiting her grandparents in The Ridge in Cold Ash.
The toddler plummeted 14 feet and landed on a brick path.
She was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital in 15 minutes where she underwent surgery.
Luckily she suffered no brain injury as a result of the fall, and no other part of her body was damaged.
