Conservatives hold majority of borough council seats in local election
The political composition of the council’s total 60 seats after results were announced during the early hours of this morning (Friday), were as follows: Conservatives 29 (lost one seat), Liberal Democrats 8 (held 3, lost 3), Labour 17 (held 5, gained 3), Independent 4 (held 2), UKIP 2 (gained 1).
Three seats in the north Hampshire area, including Burghclere, Highclere and St Mary Bourne (one ward), East Woodhay, and also Baughurst and Tadley north, were contested, out of the total 20 council seats up for grabs.
Results for the three(local) north Hmapshire seats were as follows (below):
