Contractor appointed for Newbury leisure centre revamp

Thatcham-based Francis Construction will start work on the project in mid-May and the project is scheduled to be completed in September.
The new ‘changing village’ will offer customers a new entrance to the pool, new changing cubicles and lockers and improvements to the existing assisted disabled changing room to provide all changing facilities in one unit.
Under floor heating and state of the art temperature and pressure controlled showers are also prmised.
The pool will be open as usual during the works with alternative changing facilities available.
West Berkshire Council's executive member for Leisure (Con, Chieveley) Hilary Cole, said: "I am delighted that we have start date for the improvements.
"Leisure centres are important community facilities and this project will provide a great environment for Northcroft customers to enjoy."
