Greenham Control Tower restarts air base military heritage walks
After a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Greenham Control Tower is restarting its popular guided walks around the former air base. The first of these Air Base Heritage Walks is this coming Saturday (August 7) starting at 10.30am from the Control Tower. Later walks are on August 21, September 25 and October 17.
Led by a knowledgeable guide, these two-hour three-mile walks give views of some of the key installations that reflect the military history of the air base, including the runway cross-over, the USAF missile wing headquarters, a training fire plane and the cruise missile shelters.
