Calcot convict Holly Jones avoids prison recall for motoring offences




A CONVICT on early release has avoided prison recall despite committing serious motoring offences while on licence.

Holly Jones appeared for sentencing at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 13.

The 23-year-old, formerly from Thatcham and currently living at Poppy Place, off Honey Bee Street in Calcot, who was still subject to licence conditions, admitted driving an Alfa Romeo Stelvio dangerously, involving a collision with another vehicle, while knowing that it had been taken without the owner’s consent.

She further admitted driving without insurance and a simple offence of dangerous driving.

All three offences were committed in Hamilton Road, Reading, on April 30.

Jones, who had previously remanded in custody, was nevertheles not recalled to the crown court.

Instead, she was made subject a a nine month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.

In addition, she was ordered to complete 180 hours of unpaid community work.

Next, Jones was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £187.

Finally, she was banned from driving for two years.
