The number of lab-confirmed coronavirus cases in West Berkshire now stands at 6,491 – an increase of two in the past 24 hours.

West Berkshire's seven-day rolling rate per 100,000 population to May 13 is 22.1, with 35 cases in the seven days to May 13.

The rate is calculated by dividing the seven-day count by the area population and multiplying by 100,000.

The Government dashboard says that 36,811,405 people nationally had received a first vaccine dose as of May 17, with 20,546,452 having a second dose up to this date.

The dashboard says that a new system has disrupted the removal of cases from the data, resulting in 4,776 cases being removed today.

Newly-reported cases for the UK and England were unaffected and historical published data totals have not been changed.

The change means that the total number of lab-confirmed cases in the UK is now 4,450,392, down from yesterday's 4,452,756.

The daily number of lab-confirmed cases is 2,412.

The Government said that newly-reported cases at regional and local authority level within England are calculated as the daily change in the total number of cases.

It said that figures for May 18 show significantly lower numbers or zero, and do not reflect the actual number of new cases reported on that date.

The data for West Berkshire shows that 14 cases of the 16 recorded today were removed.

The changes come from where a positive rapid lateral flow test was followed by all negative polymerase chain reaction tests taken within three days.

Daily reported Covid-19 deaths are measured across the UK as deaths that occurred within 28 days of the first laboratory-confirmed positive test.

The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the UK within 28 days of a positive test is 127,691.

The daily number of deaths within the 28-day range is seven.

The number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate is 151,904 as of Friday, May 7.
