Could Thatcham house new indoor climbing centre?

Donnington-based Chris Strang Associates on behalf of Reach Indoor Climbing Gym Ltd has applied to turn a warehouse to an indoor climbing centre.
If approved, the climbing centre will be installed at unit six at the Station Road Industrial Estate in Station Road.
The facility will be open to the public and will include two climbing areas.
Christopher Strang said that he expected most of the people using the centre to come from the local area.
However, he said that a ‘green’ loyalty card would be available and said: “The applicant will be operating a scheme to encourage people to walk, cycle, ride or take public transport by, for example, running a market incentive to promote this.
“The building is not close to residential properties, and there would be no issues of noise and disturbance.”
A date of December 10 has been set for a final decision by West Berkshire Council.
