Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust
Dogs Trust Newbury has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.
And every Sunday we have been shining a spotlight on one of them to try to help spread the word.
Nationwide, the charity currently has 730 dogs that are looking for a family to join.
You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.
Today we have the beautiful Honey to tell you about.
She is “a sweet but sensitive” five-year-old golden retriever, who needs patient and understanding adopters to help her grow in confidence.
The trust says that this will “open her world back up slowly”.
She loves her toys, and Dogs Trust has found this is a great way to make friends with her.
Honey enjoys training and is eager to learn but the trust is keen to find an adult-only, pet-free home for her.
They hope she will have quiet walking locations nearby and not need to travel too far in the car – and that her new home should be only 45 minutes from the centre.
They hope she will move to a home that is willing to continue her training and rehabilitation.
The trust added: “Honey is hoping to find a loving home that can embrace her and she promises to love them back in return.”
