The council's conservation officer is satisfied to proceed based on the details submitted insofar as the structure's external appearance does not detract from the special character of the listed building and other heritage assets nearby, in accordance with Policy CS19 of the West Berkshire Core Strategy 2006-2026 and advice contained within the National Planning Policy Framework.
Historic England is also satisfied with the plans provided.
The proposed structure will use salvaged bricks and tiles from the demolished building wherever possible. Any supplementary materials required must match the existing materials as closely as possible and obtain approval by the local planning authority before being used.
The case officer's report read: "Due to the minimal external changes to the property, any impact on historic or architectural significance is minimal.
"The amendment is concerned with amendments to the roof structure and the introduction of additional roof openings. The proposal also includes an increase in the eaves and ridge height of the north barn.
"The changes are considered to retain the overall design and character of the building in terms of its association with the history of the site."
