Council approves new agricultural storage building in Compton
West Berkshire Council has approved the construction of a new agricultural storage building.
Caroline Graham applied for permission to construct a new building to store grain, fertiliser and agricultural machinery at Church Farm in Compton.
The new store has 270 tonnes of spare capacity, as the applicant is seeking to purchase further land in the area.
The council said: “The proposed barn is considered reasonably necessary for purposes of agriculture on the site.”
But it noted concerns regarding the siting, design and external appearance of the barn.
“The concerns of objectors have been noted and addressed and additional information received.
“On balance, the siting is considered acceptable.”
