West Berkshire Council approves new replacement dwelling at Barn House in Hamstead Marshall
West Berkshire Council has approved the construction of a replacement residential dwelling.
The council has granted conditional approval to a proposal to replace an old building with a new structure at Barn House in Hamstead Marshall, which also includes associated parking, landscaping and access.
No significant concerns were raised by councillors or consultees, though construction of the replacement dwelling cannot commence until details of an electric vehicle charging point (minimum of 7kw) have been submitted and approved by the local planning authority.
The applicant is also required to provide surface vehicle parking and/or turning space, in accordance with the approved plans.
Residents also welcomed the proposal.
“I think it is a definite improvement on the existing one, which I know is in very poor condition and impossible to renovate to bring up to a decent standard,” wrote Richard Cotton.
Maryn Oppenheim added: “It is a welcome improvement on the current house which is in desperate need of updating.”
