Council approves proposed residential development in Bradfield

West Berkshire Council has approved a proposed change of use and conversion of redundant commercial buildings to create four new dwellings.

The applicant, Paul Pearce, applied for planning permission to convert the three existing barns at Hewins Wood House, in Bradfield, and to reduce the number of parking spaces by 12 — there currently being 25.

Some concerns were flagged regarding noise disruption and loss of commercial floorspace.

However, the council approved the application, subject to conditions.

The council’s highway team recommended no dwelling should be occupied until an electric vehicle charging point, minimum of 7kw, has been provided for each dwelling.
