Yattendon Garage 'unattractive' workshop replacement approved

West Berkshire Council has approved a retrospective application submitted by Yattendon Garage to demolish its existing flat-roofed workshop and build a new flat-roofed workshop in its place.

Due to no expansion or alteration of use being proposed, the application has been approved without issue.

But while Frilsham Parish Council raised no objections, it did suggested "a more attractive building could have been built".

The case officer's report reads: "Comments were made with regard to the appearance of the workshop.

"However, the design and materials used reflect the character of the existing buildings on site."

A slightly larger and taller structure replaced the previous concrete workshop, with existing vegetation screening it from the neighbouring properties.
