Council chief executive will not be shared
West Berkshire Council leader Graham Jones said the council will not share its chief executive with Wokingham
WEST Berkshire Council shares its CCTV hub with Windsor and Maidenhead, and it shares Trading Standards department with Wokingham, but it will not be sharing its chief executive.
A question submitted by Labour party spokesman Richard Garvie to a full meeting of West Berkshire Council on Tuesday asked if the council, during times when it was looking to save money, had considered sharing its most senior officer position, currently held by Nick Carter, with Wokingham, which has recently lost its chief executive.
The leader of West Berkshire Council, Graham Jones (Con, Lambourn), said that while in the midst of financial hardship it was imperative that the chief executive of the council concentrated his efforts fully on West Berkshire, and that no sharing would take place.
